BURACHOWSKI, FRANK C.
STAATSBURG – Frank C. Burachowski, 67, a World War II Marine Corps veteran and Staatsburg resident, died Friday [November 8, 1991] at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
Prior to residing in Staatsburg, he lived in Hastings on the Hudson (Westchester County).
Mr. Burachowski was employed by the Labor International Union of North America Local No. 1000, retiring in 1985.
He was a 28-year member of the West Clinton Fire Department.
During World War II, Mr. Burachowski served with the [Third] Marine Raider Battalion and was the recipient of a Purple Heart Medal for service in Guam.
Born April 20, 1924, in Hastings on the Hudson, he was the son of Joseph and Sophie Wilkocki Burachowski.
On June 22, 1946, in Brooklyn, he married the former Sophie Trusz, who survives in Staatsburg.
Other survivors include his two sons, John Burachowski of the Town of Clinton and Robert Burachowski of Huntington, Vt.; a brother, Stanley Burachowski of Wappingers Falls; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
