BLOTTER, MICHAEL E., JR.
Michael Edward Blotter Jr., 88, of Palm Springs, died Jan. 2, 2004, in Palm Springs from complications of a stroke.
He was born Aug. 1, 1915, to Michael Edward Sr. and Mary Louise Hosbeck Blotter in Garwood, N.J.
He worked with his family building the Blotter Electric Companies in Palm Springs.
He served in the Edson Raider Battalion of the Marine Corps during World War II and was awarded a Silver Star and Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Andreé; three daughters, Kathy Moberg of Seaside, Ore., Nancy Claire of Sausalito and Mary Pat Wentz of Kailua, Hawaii; two brothers, Michael of Santa Fe, N.M., and Thomas of Carson City, Nev.; two sisters, Mary Mann of Avenell, N.J., and Margaret Galuski of Garwood, N.J.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Blotter in 1994.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Palm Springs.
Burial will be at Riverside National Cemetery with Wiefels & Son of Palm Springs in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of the Desert or St. Theresa’s Church.
