REED, ERNEST G.

MENDENHALL – Ernest Garland Reed, 75, a retired Simpson County circuit clerk, died of cancer Thursday [December 10, 1997] at St. Dominic / Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Services are 2 p.m. today at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home with burial in Braxton Cemetery in Braxton.

Mr. Reed was a Simpson County native. He was a Mendenhall United Methodist Church member.

He was a Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include: wife, Charleen; son, Randy Reed of Germantown, Tenn.; brother, Vernell Reed of Mendenhall; sister, Mattie Lois Reed of Mendenhall; and three grandchildren.
