GENAY, RAYMOND E., JR.
Raymond Elliot Genay Jr., 69, of Toms River, died Friday [January 12, 1996] at home. He was a supervisor in Exxon Corporation’s Treasury Department Mail Division in New York for 15 years, retiring in 1989. He was also a bus driver for Lincoln Transit in Lakewood for 30 years and was the recording secretary for United Transportation Union Local 1007. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Bougainville 2nd Raider Battalion 3rd Division, 1st Marine War Dog Platoon. Later he served with the 4th Marine Regiment 6th Marine Division in Okinawa. He was a member of the A. J. Weeks Post 6063, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Marine Corps League Detachment 796, both of Toms River. Born in Philadelphia, he moved to Toms River in 1948.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Leontine Hucker Genay; three daughters, Nancy Caldwell, Manchester Township; Caroll Murray, Toms River; and Michele Anzek, Tuscon, Ariz.; a sister, Patricia Tartaglia, Margate, Fla. And six grandchildren. Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements.
