FIEDLER, WILLIAM C.
Lebanon Junction, Ky., Aug. 21—A final verdict in the death of William Fiedler, 37, found dead [August 18, 1959] in City Jail here, is being withheld pending an autopsy report.
Bullitt County Coroner Walter Keith, however, said he has tentatively ruled the death a suicide.
Fiedler was jailed about noon Tuesday on a charge of public drunkenness by Police Chief Delmar Eskridge. About 6 p.m., Keith said, Eskridge found Fiedler dead with one end of a sheet knotted around a bar above his cell bunk and the other end knotted around his throat.
The autopsy report is expected Saturday.
