SMITH, MASON B.

Mason Buford Smith, 74, Wagoner, Okla., a former longtime Klamath Falls resident, died June 13, 1999, in Muskogee, Okla.

Interment will be the national cemetery in Ft. Gibson, Okla.

Mr. Smith was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Calhoun, La., to Anderson and Josie (Bryan) Smith.

He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War.

He lived in Klamath Falls from 1943 until moving to Wagoner in 1991.

He married Linda Anderson in Klamath Falls on Nov. 22, 1980.

He was employed by Weyerhaeuser Co. and a green chain puller.

Mr. Smith was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Smith of Wagoner; sisters, Marie Smith and Georgie Reams of Monroe, La.; sister and brother-in-law, Aline and Louie Alexander of Rustin, La.; daughters and sons-in-law, April and Tom Baxter of Klamath Falls and Sherry and Joe Hill of Battle Mountain, Nev.; sons, James Smith of Portland and Mark Smith of Sparks, Nev.; stepson, Bill Sherman of Tulsa, Okla.; stepdaughters, Maria Knapp and Darla Cole of Wagoner; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and four grandchildren.
