DAWSON, JOHN L.

PECULIAR, Mo. – John L. Dawson, 61, formerly of DeKalb, died Monday, Sept. 2, 1985, in Peculiar, Mo. He was born Feb. 22, 1924, in DeKalb, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Summers) Dawson.

He was retired from the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Postal Service.

He is survived by his wife, Dale, Peculiar; one daughter, Terry, and two grandchildren, Jamie and Lynn, all of Peculiar; one half-sister, Mary Jo Craney, Marengo; one half-brother, Gary Lee Dawson, Roselle; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Belton, Mo. Burial will be in a military cemetery.
