CAMPBELL, DARYL D.

Pfc. [Daryl] Dean Campbell, 22-year-old, twice-wounded Marine, was killed in action June 20 [1945] on Okinawa, his mother learned yesterday.

Son of Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell, 3 Burlington Ave., the young Marine had received shrapnel wounds last July 21 on Guam and again in May on Okinawa.

He entered the Marine Corps in October, 1942, and was sent overseas the following December with the Marine Raiders, later known as the Fourth Marines. He attended West and Edison Technical High Schools and was employed by Delco Appliance Division.

Besides his mother, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Don Schreckengost of Alfred, and two brothers, Grenfell Campbell of Brooklyn and Lt. Roderick Campbell, in Europe with the Army Air Forces.
