BANNON, HAROLD G.

Harold G. Bannon Sr., 79, of Levittown, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday [March 4, 2001] at Frankford Hospital Bucks County Division, Falls Township.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre. He was a foreman for Penn Fruit Warehouse, Philadelphia, and security guard at the George School, Newtown, Hanover Township. He was in the Civil Conservation Corps. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant in the Pacific Theater. He was also a drill sergeant at Parris Island, S.C. He was a communicant at Immaculate Conception Church, Levittown.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette D. (Eustice) Bannon; son, Michael J.; grandson, Jason; and brother, Thomas “Buddy.”

Surviving are his sons, Harold G., Jr., Robert F. and Joseph D., all of Levittown; Thomas P., Bristol; and Bruce, Fairless Hills; daughters, Dianne J. Miller, Washington state; Debbie Schardinger and Denise M., both of Levittown; and Patricia A. Keyso, Florida; 36 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Ann Bogan, Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, 5201 Emilie Road, Levittown. Family and friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Mass cards may be given.
