PETERSON, JAMES B.

James B. Peterson, Sr., age 82, of Okeechobee died Thursday, May 13, 2004, at Okeechobee Health Care Facility. He was born July 21, 1921, in Covington County, Miss., to Adam and Matilda Peterson. He was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps, having served his country proudly and faithfully during WWII and the Korean War. Mr. Peterson came to Okeechobee from Miami in 1970.

He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Fred Peterson and his grandson, Charles Collier.

Survivors include: his son, James B. Peterson; daughter, Jean Collier; granddaughter, Crystal Peterson; and, great-grandsons, Marc and Cory Collier. Mr. Peterson was loved and will be missed by his extended family of Harry and Bette Moldenhauer, Sandra Sandy, and Michael and Kerry Mohorek.

Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m., at Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home on Sunday, May 16.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., on Monday, May 17, at Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.
