TOTIN, GEORGE

George Totin, a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy, died Monday [June 4, 1990] at John F. Kennedy Medical Center, Edison.

Mr. Totin was an ironworker for 35 years, retiring in 1987.

He was a former member of the Raritan Yacht Club, Perth Amboy.

He served in World War II as a Marine Raider with the 1st and 2nd battalions. He also served as an honor guard aboard the USS Missouri at the signing of the surrender of Japan.

Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Mosinak Totin; a daughter, Janine Matthews; a son, Mark Totin; three sisters, Irene Don Donatelli of Vero Beach, Fla., Dorothy Donohue of South Plainfield, and Margaret Stokes of Edison; a brother, Robert of Netuchen; and a grandson.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., in the Fords section of Woodbridge. Interment will be in St. John’s Greek Catholic Church Cemetery, Perth Amboy.

Visiting hours will be tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
