KRYSZTOFIK, JOHN J.
WEST RUTLAND – John J. Krysztofik, 74, died suddenly Monday morning [June 24, 1996] in West Rutland.
He was born in West Rutland, Sept. 4, 1921, son of Boleson and Stephania (Stanuliewicz) Krysztofik.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and was a member of the U.S. Marine Raider Association, Sixth Division.
Mr. Krysztofik was the recipient of a Purple Heart.
He was employed by Howe Scale Co. for 25 years.
Mr. Krysztofik was a member of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in West Rutland, a member of the American Legion Post 87, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans, a member of the National Rifle Association, the Vermont Sheriffs Association, the American Historical Foundation and a member of the American Society of Dowsers.
Survivors include a son, John Krysztofik of Center Rutland; a daughter, Sandra Fairhill of Louisa, Va.; a brother, Matthew Krysztofik of West Rutland; a sister, Molly Hyjek of Rutland; his former wife, Lillian (Fenton) Krysztofik of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.
There will be no calling hours.
