KINERSLY, JAMES C.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, in St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Beaverton for James Clifford Kinersly, who died Aug. 2 [2000] at age 78.

Mr. Kinersly was born April 3, 1922, in The Dalles. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific and was awarded the Purple Heart. Before and after the war, he attended the University of Oregon. He was an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad for 36 years, retiring in 1983. He lived in Los Angeles until 1961, when he returned to The Dalles, and in 1973, he moved to Beaverton. He was a member of the church. In about 1946, he married Esther Formia.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Linda Radetich, Sandi Couchman and Kathy Spezza; brothers, Dr. Thornberry and Jerry; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the memorial fund of his church. Arrangements are by Portland Funeral Alternatives.
