JOHNSON, EDWARD F.
Edward F. Johnson, husband of Nan McDonough Johnson of 415 Circular Ave., Hamden, formerly of Northford and Mansfield St., New Haven, died unexpectedly in St. Raphael’s Hospital Thursday [December 27, 1973]. He was 49.
Mr. Johnson was born in New Haven, October 26, 1924, son of the late Elmer and Anna Foley Johnson. He was an employee of the Union Trust Co. and was a retired member of the New Haven Police Department, where he had served for 17 years.
He was a member of the Rodrego Council, Knights of Columbus, the Connecticut State Police Association, the New Haven Anchor Club and past Commandant of the Marine Corps League. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.
Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters, Mrs. John (Mary Ann) Owens of South Carolina, the Misses Judith, Donna and Karen Johnson, all of Hamden; five sons, Edward, Mark, Matthew, David and Paul Johnson, all of Hamden; an aunt, Mrs. Mae Bishop of Hartford; an uncle, William Foley of New York, and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Maureen Johnson.
His funeral will be held from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., Monday morning at 8:15. A mass of Christian burial will be held in Blessed Sacrament Church at 9 o’clock. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
