PUGH, GEORGE C.

George C. Pugh age 82 of Massillon, Ohio passed away Friday [September 8, 2006] in the Altercare of Country Lawn following a brief illness. Born in Burlison, TN. on February 16, 1924 he was the son of the late, Lindsey and Nathalie Pugh. He was a veteran of World War Two serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a retired foreman for the Norfolk & Southern Railroad, retiring in 1986 after 44 years of service. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther M. Pugh who passed away April 24, 1976 and also by a daughter, Martha Guthrie, his brother, James C. Pugh and sister, Lavern Marshall. He was a member of the Navarre VFW and the Brewster Moose Lodge.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Maria Pugh of Navarre, OH and Russell and Esther Pugh of Massillon, OH and his daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Werner Dominik of Navarre, OH. There are fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Larry (Brenda) Pugh and two sisters, Linda (Wayne) Kidd and Louise Pugh all of Tennessee.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Rev. Elaine Tullis officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Make A Wish Foundation.
