PIPER, NATT A., JR.

Natt A. Piper Jr., private first class in the Marines, has been killed in action [February 20, 1944] in the South Pacific according to word received by his father, Natt Piper, architect and contractor who is on a year’s leave of absence from the office of chief city building inspector.

The younger Piper had lived in Long Beach since babyhood and was graduated from Poly High School in 1936. He spent a year in government construction work in Alaska and returned to join the Marines here January 5. 1942. He had been in the South Pacific since June 6, 1942.

Besides his parents he is survived by a brother, Willis of Bellflower; a sister, Mrs. W. J. Adams of Rochester, N.Y., and a grandmother, Mrs. Willis Piper of Long Beach.
