PERCELL, WYATT H.
JUNCTION CITY—Sgt. Wyatt H. Percell, 28, Marine Corps, was killed in action Feb. 20 [1945] on Iwo Jima, according to word coming this week to his wife, Mrs. Luella Dittman Percell, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Percell, Alvadore.
Sgt. Percell went into the service in 1941 and went overseas in 1942. He returned to the states in October of 1943 with wounds and the Purple Heart, and went back into active service in August of 1944, going to the South Pacific area. He was a native of Kansas, and received all his schooling in Junction City.
Besides his widow, he is survived by four children, Vivian, Ronald, Gary, and Jane; his parents; five brothers, Charles in the Merchant Marine, Alva in Noti, Harold with the Army overseas, Melvin in the Navy, and Lloyd at Junction City; also, one sister, Verna May, at home.
