DISMUKES, ALVIN M.

Sgt. Alvin M. Dismukes, U.S. Marine Corps, was killed in action [August 27, 1942] in the Pacific war zone, his wife, Mrs. Theresa Dismukes of Charleston was notified Saturday. Sgt. Dismukes had served 18 years in the Marines, and had been stationed at the Naval Ordnance plant at South Charleston four different times.
