KNIGHT, RAYMOND R.

Raymond Richard Knight, 74, of Winchester died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Knight was born Sept. 5, 1925, in Everman, Texas, the son of James Vernon and Myrtle Halford Knight. He had been a part-time employee of Boscawen Gold and Silver and was a member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and was awarded three Purple Hearts and two bronze stars.

He married Maxine Wilson in Tijuana, Mexico, on June 25, 1951.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Ronald Wert Knight of Bangor, Maine, and Robert Wilson Knight of Greencastle, Pa.; three daughters, Susan Jane Clifton of Lancaster, Calif., Patricia Ann Fitzwater of Winchester, and Nancy Dinardo of Latrobe, Pa., a brother, Bob Knight of New Orleans; four sisters, Irene Knox of Dallas, Totsie Williams and Thelma Hanna, both of Burleson, Texas, and Mabel Covey of Snyder, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunnyside Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ron Potter officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.
