JOHNSON, HENRY D.

Henry D. Johnson, 84, of Harrison died on Monday, February 15, 2010. Viewing hours will be Thursday 2/18/10 from 3-8pm and Friday from 9am at Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029. Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Church, Harrsion, at 10 am. Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Born in Bayonne, Henry grew up in Jersey City and has been a resident of Harrison since 1948. He worked as a machine technician for Prudential Insurance Co., Newark retiring in 1995. Prior to that he worked for Otis Elevator, Harrison and Worthington Pump Company, Harrison. He was a World War II Veteran serving his country proudly in the U.S. Marines where he was awarded the Purple Heart. A long time parishioner of Holy Cross Church, Harrison, he loved going to Atlantic City with his Harrison friends. He especially enjoyed traveling with his wife, Marie. His favorite past time was gardening. Henry truly loved his family very much. Predeceased by his wife Marie (2006) married 61 years.

Henry is survived by his loving son Judge John M. Johnson and his wife Leslie, cherished grandchildren Sharon E. Johnson, Laura J. McCarthy, Jacqueline M. Johnson, Christina Manfredi and John M. Johnson, dear great-grandchildren Olivia & Sophie McCarthy and Stella & Lucy Geldziler. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Holy Cross Church, Harrison in care of the funeral home in memory of Henry.
