CULP, DAVID R., JR.

David Robert Culp, Jr., 88, died on Tuesday, October 19 [2010], in Apple Valley, CA. He was born in Albany, MO, on October 30, 1921, oldest of four children of David Robert Culp, Sr., and Martha Ann Robertson Culp. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Bernice Culp, his brother Geral, 2 children John and Janet, 5 stepchildren, 17 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Culp, a brother, Vernon P. Culp, and a sister, Dorothy I. Culp Marshall.

David was a fine chemist and metallurgist, a Marine who saw active duty in WWII, and an avid lifelong student of a wide-ranging selection of topics. But his finest work, and the legacy which will do honor to his memory, was as a truly remarkable family man.

Services will be held at Kern Mortuary, Hesperia, CA on Tuesday, October 26. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m., funeral services will commence at 10, and burial will be at the Riverside National Cemetery at 1 p.m.
