TURNBULL, LEONARD H.
Leonard H. Turnbull, 91, of Greer, died September 29, 2013.
Born in Graniteville, SC, he was the son of W. C. R. and Eula Helen Glover Turnbull.
Mr. Turnbull attended the University of South Carolina before entering the Marine Corps, serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater on Iwo Jima and other islands. Following his service in the Marine Corps, he completed his studies at the University of Oregon. After retiring as News Editor with The Greenville-Piedmont, Mr. Turnbull worked with Federal Express.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Betty Ann Swygert Turnbull, and his second wife, Patricia Shaw Turnbull.
Surviving are his son, Mark Turnbull of Greer; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 3rd, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 910 Hudson Road, Greenville, SC 29615. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
