SINGLEY, WILLIAM R.

CIMARRON — William R. “Bill” Singley, 77, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002 in Raton.

He was born July 2, 1924 in Kismet, Kan., the son of Homer and Frances (Wood) Singley. He was a resident of Cimarron and a World War II veteran where he served with the 1st Division of Carlson Raiders of the United States Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Marie V. Singley of Cimarron; daughters Mary Frances Goeble of Hugoton, Kan., Andre Catlin of Albuquerque, Judy Zordel of Albuquerque and Reesa Singley of Broomfield, Colo.; step-sons Dwain Romero and wife Nancy of Cimarron, Dale Romero of California and Larry Wood of Oklahoma; step-daughter Dottie Schaecher of Aurora, Colo.; sisters Betty Lee of Plains, Kan. and Jody Pivonka of Kansas; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 18 at the Church of Christ in Cimarron. Mr. Dennis Schneider officiated.
