SAUER, LEO J.

Leo James Sauer, 84, of Lincoln, passed away September 25, 2008 at Maple Ridge Care Centre.

Mr. Sauer’s services will be graveside services at New Union Cemetery Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Tim Searby officiating.

Leo was born April 12, 1924 in Waco, TX to the late William and Ella Sauer. He married Mary Spangler on November 13, 1971. He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

Leo worked as a contract electrician for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for many years.

He is survived by his wife Mary of Lincoln; step-daughter Vicky Craig of Atlanta, IL; step-grandchildren: Kim Nordwahl of Atlanta; Patty Poff of St. Joseph, IL; Chad Palmer of Normal, IL; Ricky Palmer of Kewanee, IL; three step-great-grandchildren ; 2 nephews, and 1 niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mabel Hazelwood.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice and will be accepted at the funeral home. Holland Barry and Bennett, Lincoln is handling arrangements.
