RUNYON, EARL F.
Earl F. Runyon, 90, went home to be with his Lord on April 7, 2007. He was born December 16, 1916, in Cordell, OK, to James Tilmon and Rhoda Parmila (Byrd) Runyon. Earl served his country in World War II as 1st Lieutenant in the Marine Raiders (Carlson’s Raiders). Earl was an excellent story teller. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed reading, writing poems, and teaching Sunday School at his church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lola Wheeler, Lela Stricklin, Evelyn Harris; son-in-law, Monte Thompson. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Cleo Runyon; children, Evelyn Thompson of OKC, Jim Runyon and wife, Sharon of OKC, Ruth Harden and husband, Phil of NC; grandchildren, Mark (Kendra), Michael (Hayley), Susan, Marcus (Kelly), Justin (Christina), Ian, Sean; and seven great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Family will receive visitors Tuesday evening, April 10, 2007, from 6:30 until 8pm, at Baggerley-South Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10AM, Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Capitol Hill Full Gospel Church, 2928 Woodlawn Dr., Moore, OK 73153. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
