WALLIS, ROBERT C.

Pfc. Robert C. Wallis, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Wallis, Bonneville Park, was killed in action [July 21, 1944] in the Pacific. He was a member of the Fourth Marine [Regiment] and a veteran of Bougainville action.

He was born May 13, 1926 in Paris, Idaho. He attended Wasatch High in Heber, and Ogden High School and was active in athletics at Wasatch High School. He entered the services in March 1943 and received basic training at San Diego, Calif., and was assigned overseas in June and later volunteered his services in the Marine Raiders.

Survivors include his parents and a brother, Sgt. Todd A. Wallis, with the Tenth Air Force in India.
