PARISI, FRED

Fred Parisi, 85, Ebensburg, died June 12, 2006, in Cambria Township. Born July 26, 1920, in Spangler, son of Jack and Philemenia (Cucchi) Parisi. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Eleanor; and brother, Aldo. Survived by wife, the former Valentina “Tina” Peta; these children: Diana, Cumberland, Md.; Freda, Ebensburg; Gerald, Johnstown; Sandra Kreutz, Piqua, Ohio; Deborah, and husband, Michael, St. Lawrence; and Daniel, Chicago; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Fred was employed in the coal mine industry for 46 years, the majority at Bethlehem Mines in Revloc and Ebensburg. Marine veteran of World War II. Member of UMWA Local 850, Revloc, and VFW Post 4963, Ebensburg. Fred was a hard worker and a dedicated man who above all else cherished his wife and family. He represented one of the best examples of “America’s Greatest Generation.” Dad will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Matevish — Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Wednesday evening. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus.
