MAY, WILMER J.
Wilmer Jack May, 81, of Horsham, Pa., and formerly of Ambler, Pa., went to be with his Lord, Thursday, November 3, 2005. Born in Pen Argyl, he was a son of the late Vincent L. and Martha Tinney May. He was a resident of Horsham for 46 years. He and his beloved wife, Celeste Coppolella May, were married for 59 years. Jack was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School, Class of 1942. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from LaSalle University in 1975. Jack was a tool engineer for SPS Technologies in Jenkintown, Pa. until his disability and later retirement caused him to leave the company in 1982. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served with the Third Marine Raider Battalion of the Fourth Regiment in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was wounded twice in action and received two Purple Hearts. At the conclusion of the war, he participated in the occupation of Japan. Jack loved all sports but was particularly fond of golf. He loved life and was especially loving of his family. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Raider Association, American Legion of Willow Grove, Military Order of Purple Heart, and the Marine Corps Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Vincent J. and Edward L., both of Horsham, Pa.; three daughters, Jacquelyn May Albers, of Churchville, Pa., Elizabeth May Field, of Hatboro, Pa., and Kathleen May Levy, of Horsham, Pa.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, County Line and Easton Roads, Warrington, Pa. Call from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville, Pa. The James R. Baskwill Funeral Home, 20 W.
