He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, during which he served in “Edson’s Raiders.” Following 34 months overseas and having received numerous distinguishments, including a Purple Heart, the Silver and Bronze stars and many more medals for his service and marksmanship, he returned home to attend LSU, where he graduated with a degree in engineering. After many years of service, he retired from the city-parish as a civil engineer and assistant public works director. He then continued his practice in St. Francisville as an independent contractor until recently. For those who were blessed to have crossed his path, he will be remembered as a kind, generous and loving man who knew no strangers. Bob had a deep passion for his family, life and as we all know, for hunting. He taught us all how to just “Believe.” In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231-4596.
