LAMBDIN, HOMER L.

Funeral services for Homer Lee Lambdin, a Middlesboro strip mine operator, will he conducted at the First Baptist Church at 11 a.m. tomorrow.

The Middlesboro man died at 2:25 p.m. Saturday [July 17, 1965] in the Pineville Community Hospital following an accident at the Carnes Coal Company near Davisburg at 1 p.m.

Lambdin was in the process of building a road al the mine when the bulldozer he was driving backed over a log, threw him against a tree and ran over his body, officials said.

The accident took place about 150 feet from the top of a hill. The bulldozer continued to the bottom of a 500 foot hill after the accident.

He died of a crushed right leg, left leg and shock, the attending physician reported.

The North 28th Street resident was born on Sept. 9, 1924 at Clairfield, Tenn. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, his parents and two brothers.

Lambdin, the son of William S. and Osie Partin Lambdin, was united in marriage to Miss Henrietta Dykes on Jan. 17, 1946. They have four daughters at home, Karen, Regina, Jan and Lisa.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Junior Order of American Mechanics, and the American Legion. Lambdin served in the Marines during World War II.

Besides his wife, children and parents Lambdin is survived by brothers Chester and Leroy Lambdin of Detroit, Mich.

The family will receive friends al the Cawood Funeral Home from 7 until 9 p.m.

Rev. Truitt Miller will officiate at the services at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
