KSIOSZK, FELIX B.
Fifteen-year-old John Ksioszk, a student at Antioch Community High School, is being held in the County jail after shooting and killing his father, Felix. B. Ksioszk, Rt. 2, Antioch, last Friday [July 26, 1963].
State’s Attorney Bruno Stanczak said Judge Minard Hulse refused to authorize the transmission of the youth
to the Juvenile Home, because of the seriousness of the crime. Stanczak said Ksioszk would probably be charged with murder when the Grand Jury convenes next Monday.
John confessed the shooting of his father to Assistant State’s Attorney Jack Hoogasian Friday morning. He shot his father once as he lay sleeping, then went outside and waited until his mother came home. His mother telephoned for help, and Mr. Ksioszk was taken to Zion Hospital, where he died at 6:50 a.m.
The boy said he and his father had gone on a fishing trip. His father was drinking, and became abusive after they returned home. From the boy’s story, it appeared that there was a history of discord between father and son, and the boy had thought of killing him before.
Felix Ksioszk was buried Tuesday after funeral services from the Strang Funeral Home in Antioch.
