HOLMES, JOHN B.

COLUMBUS GROVE, Mar. 22—Final rites for Cpl. John B. Holmes, 24, USMC, who was killed in action on Okinawa, June 6, 1945, will be held at 9 a.m. Friday. Services will be conducted in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Karl Finsel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Cpl. Holmes was graduated from the Columbus Grove High School and was with Co. D, Second Battalion, 29th Marines, 6th Marine Division in the South Pacific.

Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Kathryn V. Holmes, two brothers, William and James, and two sisters, Mrs. Cloyce Mayberry and Mrs. Paul Zeller, all of Columbus Grove.

The body will arrive Wednesday and will remain at the Hartman Sons Funeral Home until services.
