HASH, CHESTER D.

SHERMAN, Texas, March 29—Reburial services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Tom Bean Baptist Church for Marine Sgt. Chester David Hash. Sergeant Hash was killed in action on Okinawa May 24, 1945, at the age of 26. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery here, with military rites conducted by the American Legion.

Sergeant Hash was born Feb. 5, 1919, in Whitewright. He finished Tom Bean School and was graduated in 1939 from Whitewright High School.

Sergeant Hash entered the service May 18, 1939. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor when the Japs struck Dec. 7, 1941. He saw service in Guadalcanal, New Hebrides and Guam.

He is survived by his father, R. M. Hash of Sherman; two brothers, Rudolph Hash of Sherman and Harold Hash of Denton, and two sisters, Mrs. Ray Moss and Mrs. Mable Page, both of Sherman.
