FOLEY, GUY C.
Oakland, March 30 (Special)—The body of Sgt. Guy Clement Foley, a son of Mrs. Flo Cash Foley of Oakland, arrived at Oakland, Calif., March 27 aboard the U.S.A.T. Walter W. Schwenk.
Foley was killed on Iwo Jima Feb. 21, 1945 while serving with the Fifth Marine Division. He had previously served with the Third Raiders on Bougainville and the Russell Islands.
Born in Villa Grove, May 14, 1920, he attended high school there and later Eastern State Teachers College in Charleston. He was employed in Los Angeles at the time of his enlistment in the Marines.
Besides his mother he leaves a sister, Mrs. Madge Ashmore of Normal, and a brother, Prof. Rolla Foley in Wilmington, Ohio.
Memorial services will be conducted at the home in Oakland on arrival of the body here.
