BANTA, WILLIAM B.
Will Ballard Banta, former resident of Quitman and employee of Service Pipeline was killed Saturday night [September 19, 1964] in a car accident at Levelland where he had been living for the past two years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the First Baptist Church at Quitman with Rev. Leroy Collum and Rev. Mark Lewis officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery directed by Cain Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Herschel Sullivan, Johnny Noe, Henry Cain, L. W. Garrett, B. R. Homon[?] and R. A. Anderson.
A native of Roswell, New Mexico, he was married to the former LeOndus Robinson who survives. He was a Marine veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include a son, John Banta of Levelland; a brother, Frank Banta of Sanders, Arizona; two sisters, Mrs. Nadia Coker and Mrs. Mary Lee Durham, both of Levelland; his father, James O. Banta of Levelland; and his mother, Mrs. Ethel Taylor.
